The KLE International School, Belagavi accomplished yet another successful  mission : JEM( Joint Environmental Mission), at Buckingham Friends School, Pennsylvania, USA from   April 2017  to  3rd May 2017. Through the Joint Environmental Mission (JEM), the students partnered with their peers from other countries to better understand environmental issues and to advocate for more environmentally sustainable practices.

The Joint Environmental mission was attended by the Principal Ms. Dipti Ingley and  teacher,  Ms.Farhin along with the students- Amogh Naik, Akshaj Vidyarthi, Aditya Charantimath, Aditya Korishetty, Ankit Dhadoti, Sharan Dastikop, Shopia Hosamani, Gouri Pradhan, Prerana Bhat and Arya Rajput.

JEM that began in 1991 in collaboration with Russian and Buckingham Friends School teachers, now consists of permanent partner schools in Russia, India, China, Australia, Ecuador, Kenya, and Hawaii. JEM partner schools engage in yearly home-stay exchanges. The theme this year was  “water” and the local, national and global issues that affect this resource. The KLE students  acted  as ambassadors for India  and after returning home they would  continue to promote the stewardship that was nurtured there and work on environmental projects. Over the past 22 years, 45 travel exchanges have taken place with participation from schools in seven different countries and six continents. Over 1,870 children and adults have been directly impacted through traveling or by hosting, and countless others through their association with the schools and families.

Every four to five years, an Earth Summit with student and teacher representatives from all of the JEM partner schools throughout the world is organized  which brings students together to build friendships, share information on environmental issues, and discuss  ways they can work together to improve the health of our shared planet. It  provides a unique opportunity for elementary-aged children as they collaborate on joint Earth Summit projects, engage in simulation games, and discuss their environmental concerns and hopes for the future. KLES International School will be an active participant in the next joint Earth Summit .

During the Exchange Program, the students stayed with their hosts and attended school.The day consisted of regular classes,Group activity,projects and presentations.The children also represented the school through cultural displays and yoga performances.

 
 

The group visited philadelphia and New york. the group also visited Orlando where in they were fortunate to visit  NASA, which was a great learning experience and Disney Land,

The Principal, Ms Dipti Ingley shared that it was a life changing experience and a journey worth remembering.The learning was tremendous.The exposure to the vibrant cultures,  value systems and of course the unifying bond which was forged between the schools is priceless.

 
     
 

TRADITIONAL DAY

 
     
 

 KLES’ International school had organized several classroom activtites for the JEM delegates on 17th April 2015 in the school. They all were dressed up with traditional attire . A session of clay modeling was organized , the JEM delegates enjoyed the session thoroughly . A splendid Magic Show was also by a renowned magician from Kolhapur Sir Farukh Abbas . The JEM team thoroughly enjoyed the show which was really breath taking. After the show Mehandi rounds was conducted which was the real treat to the eyes of our esteemed guest it was indeed a thrilling experience for the delegates .

 

 
   

 
     
 

COLORFUL EXTRAVAGANZA

 
 

 

 
 

The new Academic Session 2015-2016 commenced with KLE International School  Belagavi  hosting a Ten member delegation from USA Mr Richard Cox, Ms Hillary Spitzer, Ms Jean Partridge and Seven students of Buckingham Friends School  USA.

A cultural show was organised on 16th April in the Jirge  Auditorium JNMC for the Joint Environment Mission (JEM)  Team. Students performed a colorful extravaganza, showcasing their talents through songs, dances in the Cultural Show. Master Akshaj of grade VI sang a song, a classical dance was performed by the students, the JEM students of  US danced in grace , to add up to the beauty of the show Ms Rashmi the JEM host performed a beautiful dance. The JEM teachers were felicitated by the Principal Ms Arti Mishra with the mementos. Jugal Bandhi was performed by the Music teacher Mr Vishal Modak and a team of students, Ms Savita Mitrani host parent shared her views on this occasion,Teacher Hillar Spitzer the US delegate expressed her thoughts  and congratulated the performance of the students and the KlE school staff for putting up such a wonderful impressive show with good entertainment value. USA TEAM ARRIVES IN KLE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL BELAGAVI

 
     
 

Principal Mrs Arti Mishra, students and the staff of KLE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL BELAGAVI welcomed the team of  seven students with three teachers of Buckingham Friends School, U.S.A. with special assembly on 13th Monday morning. The school is geared up with lots of event for the seven days The Joint Environment Mission (JEM) programme. The theme this year is “AIR”. This programme will help children of all nations walk this earth together in balance with the environment JEM helps children develop a new global view of world security, one which is grounded in communication, understanding, and tolerance. There are a number of activities planned for the children based on this theme. The students will discuss Air related issues in their areas and compare them; they will also share their concern and the positive steps to be taken to solve the problems. 

KLE school Belagavi wishes the JEM Team  a warm welcome and a fruitful stay.  The JEM program was founded in 1991 by a collaboration of Soviet and Buckingham Friends School teachers and now consists of permanent partner schools in Russia, India, China, Australia, Ecuador, Haiti, Hawaii, Africa and France. The Earth Summit provides a unique opportunity for elementary- aged children to develop patience, cultural understanding and a tolerance for different points of view as they collaborate on Earth Summit projects engage in simulation games and discuss their fears and hopes for the future.

 
     
 

The eight member team that had left for JEM Earth Summit on 11th April 2014 to Lakhaska, Pennsylvenia, USA has  returned to Belagavi.

 The team had enriching experience and had chance to interact with students various countries like Russia, China, Australia, Hawwai and U.S.A. They discussed on the judicial use of  natural resource and efforts to make peace with other countries. The students also had chance to showcase their  talents in Yoga, dance, and drama based on the theme ‘water’.  

This was also an opportunity to befriend students who

 
 

came from all over the world. The team consisting  of Mrs. Anita Lagmavar, Mrs. Meghna Patil, Mihir rajput, Meena Sudharshini, Smriti Patted, Nehal Gamangatti, Tanishq Kugaji and Nazir peerzade had a chance to live with the host families and experience the  American culture and practices and in exchange shared our practices and culture with them.

 
     
 

The KLES’ International School Belagavi has done it again!!The School is representing India at the JEM, Joint Environmental Mission at Buckingham Friends School, Lahaska, Pennsylvania State, USA. There is an Earth Summit, wherein eight countries will be participating to discuss & reflect on the burning issue “Water Conservation.”

The Coordinator for KLES English Medium Schools, Dr. Preeti Dodwad, who initiated an active participation of the school, encouraged the students to make the most of it from the rich exposure. The Principal, Mrs. Arti Mishra, guided the Group with her experiences from her previous trip to the Buckingham Friends School.
 

 
 

The group is headed by two JEM representatives of the school, Mrs. Anita Lagmavar & Mrs. Meghana Patil. The students being, Master Mihir Rajput, Miss Meena Sudarshini, Master Nehal Gamangatti, Miss. Smriti Patted, Master. Tanishq Kugaji, Master Naseer Peerzade.

The theme this year is “Water”. There are a number of activities planned for the children based on this theme. The students will discuss water issues in their areas and compare them; they will also share their concern and the positive steps to be taken to solve the problems. They will talk about new techniques to improve water issues.

In one of the activities, each school will come up with a traditional/favorite activity.  One traditional game will be played. The students of KLES’ International School will also be demonstrating yogasanas, and also teach the students, there, 2-3 asanas. In the JEM assembly our students are going sing “The Jem Song.” In the story telling section our students will perform on the theme “Think before you act” with stories from the Panchatantra.

As a cultural exchange our students are going to stay with host student’s families at their house, students will see their teachers and friends everyday, and they will be  busy making new friends too. The students from KLES’ International School are already in contact with the host families and have tried to know them more. We expect the outcome of their meet will bring about positive approach in progressing globally & wish all our students & staff Bonvoyage and all the best.

The mission of JEM is to help children of all nations walk this earth together in balance with environment.
The KLE'S International School Belagavi & Buckingham Friends School, Lahaska have joined hands, on a novel venture "JEM" Environmental Mission.
The Principal Mrs. Arti Mishra and Teacher Mrs. Narana Shanbag along with 8 students : Reith Mohta, Sachit Kshtriya, Sharat Kavatgimath, Shekhar Mishra, Ankur Dhadoti, Khusti Patil, Nishta Metrani & Madhura Hukkeri and been to Lahaska on 19th April 2013 for an eight day visit.
The meet which was held at Lahaska has student from Russia as well. The theme for the year "water".

 

The mission of JEM is to help children of all nations walk this earth together in balance with the environment.

The JEM (Joint Environmental Mission) program brings children to the awareness that protecting the fragile fabric of life on this planet requires new ways of thinking about and relating to all life on Earth by helping them to understand that environmental harms to one nation, eventually affect all nations. Likewise, environmental benefits to one nation are eventually shared by all nations. JEM brings children to the awareness that is the  key to finding solutions to environmental problems which is in the cooperation of international communities.

Four teachers, Nine Students including the Principal of Buckingham Friends School, U.S.A were in Belagavi for the Joint Environment Mission (JEM) from 22nd November to 2nd December, 2011.The Joint Environment Mission (JEM) is to help children of all nations walk this earth together in balance with the environment JEM helps children develop a new global view of world security, one which is grounded in communication, understanding, and tolerance rather than military strength.
